Battle Creek, MI - The softball team will begin its WHAC title run against second-seeded Indiana Tech University on Thursday May 5th at 3:00pm at Bailey Park in Battle Creek, MI. The Wolves finished the season in seventh place in the WHAC with a conference record of 5-16. However, the team does have senior leadership in Jen Elliott, Danielle May, Maggie Matthews, and Kristine Dolunt. All of those players have helped lead the Wolves to the WHAC semi-finals the past two seasons. Michigan-Dearborn will need Elliot and juniors Sheri Koenig and Megan Cook to pitch their best this week. Elliot leads the staff with a 3.66 ERA. In addition to good pitching, the Wolves will need their bats to make some noise. Matthews and May, both of whom are batting over .300 on the season, need some help from their teammates in order for Michigan-Dearborn to advance. Elliot along with junior Danielle Stabau and sophomore Bridget Miller, might provide the punch the Wolves need in order to make a run at the conference title.
Indiana Tech won the season series shutting out the Wolves twice. The two teams only played two games against each other due to a rainout. For a complete tournament bracket and more information, please click
