Southfield, MI - The volleyball team won its first conference match of the season Tuesday night as they defeated the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils 3-1 (25-23, 23-25, 25-20, and 25-18). After the two teams traded 25-23 wins in the first two sets, the Wolves (11-6, 1-3) dug their heels in and won the third and fourth sets to stop their losing streak at three. Juniors Danielle Campbell and Nia Martin led Michigan-Dearborn with 8 kills a piece. As a team the Wolves had 30 kills compared to Lawrence Tech's 49 kills. However, the Blue Devils committed 32 attack errors while the Wolves had 16 attack errors. Junior Brittany Yanos led all players with 20 digs. The win for the Wolves will hopefully get them back to their winning ways they had during the non-conference portion of their schedule. The team's next match is October 2nd at Indiana Tech at 7:00pm. Indiana Teach is currently tied for first place in the WHAC at 4-0.
