Battle Creek, MI - The softball team begins postseason play this afternoon at 3:00pm as the Wolves take on top seeded Davenport University. The Wolves finished 3-11 in the WHAC and take on co-champions Davenport who finished 11-3 in the WHAC. The tournament is double elimination. If the Wolves win they would play the winner of the Concordia vs. Indiana Tech game at 6:00pm. With a loss, Michigan-Dearborn would play the loser of the Concordia vs. Indiana Tech game at 6:00pm. In other softball news, the conference awards were announced Thursday morning. Head Coach Sarah Rotta was named the Coach of Character for displaying sportsmanship and character throughout the year. Senior Danielle Stabnau and junior Bridget Miller were All-Conference Honorable Mention. The Wolves have four players named to the All-Academic Team. Leading that list is Miller, and joining her are junior Alexis Mullard and seniors Danielle Keys and Christina Smith. Sophomore Haleigh Horvath was named to the Champions of Character Team.
