Dearborn, MI - The men's basketball team was playing shorthanded Wednesday night against the Concordia University Cardinals, but they did not play like that in the first half.  The Wolves were without sophomore AJ Dombrowski and junior Julius Porter both out with injuries.  With those injuries, someone had to step up for Michigan-Dearborn.  In the first half that person was sophomore Balazs Juhasz.  Juhasz had 14 points in the first half on 7 for 13 shooting as the Wolves had a 36-30 lead at halftime. Concordia (11-10, 7-4) came back strong in the second half shooting 50% from the field while holding Michigan-Dearborn (1-21, 0-10) to 29% shooting in the second half.  Even with those numbers the Wolves played strong in the second half.  The Cardinals used a 10-2 run to start the second half and take the lead with 15 minutes remaining in the game.  The two teams would go back and forth for the next eight minutes.  Freshman Jamiel Strickland made a basket with just over six minutes left and got fouled.  He made the free throw giving Michigan-Dearborn a four point lead.  Concordia would then score the game's next 11 points and take a seven point lead with three and a half minutes remaining in the game.  Juhasz would make a basket with two and a half minutes remaining pulling the Wolves within four points.  That is as close as Michigan-Dearborn would get as Concordia made its free throws down the stretch to win 71-61.  Strickland would finish the game with 21 points while Juhasz would add 20 points.  The Wolves will play next host to the Madonna Crusaders on Saturday night, January 28, at 7:00pm.
