Battle Creek, MI - The softball lost in the first round of the WHAC Tournament this afternoon 4-1 to the Davenport University Panthers.  The Wolves hung tough against the number one seed holding them in check most of the day.  Davenport would score one run in the third, fourth, sixth, and seventh innings to quietly build a 4-0 lead.  Michigan-Dearborn would not go down without a fight loading the bases in the bottom of the seventh.  Senior Danielle Keys singled to score junior Bridget Miller with two outs.  The bases remained loaded for junior Alexis Mullard.  After Davenport made a pitching change, Mullard would strike out to end the game.  Freshman Mary Martin pitched for the Wolves allowing four earned runs on ten hits and striking out two.  Michigan-Dearborn is not done yet.  The tournament is double elimination, and the Wolves will next play at 6:00pm against the loser of the Concordia vs. Indiana Tech game.
